Jazz-tinged selections will be featured throughout the month of July as part of the traditional worship services. Ron Hann and Robert Morehead will play organ jazz by Shearing and Michel, Ellington, and Utterback and the choir will also sing an anthem crying for peace in this world. One of the weeks we will also sing a hymn in a jazz style. Please come to church and experience this wonderful style of music.
On July 25th come at 8:00 AM for practice in the Sanctuary. We will sing “Peace Will Come One Day” by Utterback. After the 8:30 Hymn Sing, we will sing for the 9:00 AM worship service.
Start your 4th of July celebration early! Be at the Farmer’s Market this Thursday, July 1st at 5:00 PM to hear an outdoor concert of patriotic music presented by Graham and Robert Morehead. While there, buy bread from the Bread Works booth. Sales benefit PHCPC ministries.
Next Saturday, July 3rd, the Mission Teams to Atlanta and Boston will be leaving from the upper parking lot. Come join them at 7:30 AM for prayer and encouragement!
PHCPC will be hosting families for IHN in July and will need volunteers to drive the van, cook meals and stay overnight with the families. The signup board will be in the Great Room Lobby! Please help out!
Do you know someone going through a difficult time? Your Stephen Ministry has provided the Care Notes that may be found in the racks in the Great Room Lobby and also outside Fellowship Hall. Sharing an appropriate note with a hurting friend is a way to show your love and concern. With his/her permission, you can also speak with Pastor Darlene about connecting with the focused care and encouragement of a trained Stephen Minister.
Come to the Andrew Reilly Memorial Park in Jefferson Hills on Saturday, July 17th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, where Jefferson Hills Bible Church is hosting Praise in the Park. Community churches (including our congregation and Praise Team) will gather at Andrew Reilly Memorial Park for an afternoon of fellowship and worship. The event is free, families are encouraged to bring a canned food item to support local food banks.
The Memory Loss Support Group will meet at the Southland Panera’s at 7:00 PM on July 5th because the church will be closed that day. The class will meet at its regular time and location in August.
The church office will be closed July 5th in observance of Independence Day.
On Sunday, July 4th, none of the classes—children, youth, or adult—will meet during the Education Time between worship services. The nursery will still be available and children preschool to 3rd grade will still be invited to continue worship in Room 104 during the Traditional service and Room 229 during the Contemporary Service.
The classes will resume their regularly scheduled times the following Sunday, July 11th.
