The old Morgantown, WV Storehouse of God
Please consider taking a 1 day mission trip on Saturday, October 9, 2010 to work on the Storehouse of God in Morgantown. Children are permitted to go as long as they have parental guidance doing the trip. Our car pool will meet in the parking lot on Audury Drive at 7:00 AM with a scheduled departure of 7:15 AM. We will return by 5:00 PM.

The One Day Mission Trip will be working at the new Storehouse of God.
While at the Storehouse of God, we will be doing needed construction work.
If you are interested or have questions, call Wayne Wicks (his number is in the church directory) or use the contact form below:

The Presbyterian Book of Order says that when a congregation is without a pastor the Presbytery will appoint another pastor to moderate the session until an interim pastor is chosen or a new pastor is called. While our search committee is seeking an interim, Presbytery has appointed the Rev. Dr. Jim Gilchrist, senior pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, to serve as moderator. Jim Gilchrist is a native of southwestern PA, and a graduate of Yale College and Yale Divinity School, with a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon. He has experience in nonprofit management as well as ministry, teaches part-time at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, is married, and has two grown children at the University of Pittsburgh.

Sharings—short messages about a topic important to the congregation given during the worship service—will be on Sundays when there is no communion or baptism—the 2nd, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month. Sharings need to be approved 2 weeks in advance by the staff. A PDF brochure to help you make your sharing interesting and effective is available in the church office and here:

JAM: Jesus And Me
The last Thursday of September, JAM is holding a cookout and registration for preschool through 5th graders and their entire family! Your children can still participate in JAM if they can’t make it to the cookout, but we’d really love to have them attend.
Preschool JAM will meet every other week beginning October 7th and kindergarten-5th grade JAM will meet every week.
JAM is free to all! If you have friends or neighbors with children in preschool through 5th grade, invite them to JAM where they can play games, sing songs and learn about God together.
If you are interested in being a helper or leader for either JAM group, please contact Walt at 412-655-2000 x122 or use Walt’s contact form.

Illumination will be Dec. 11, 2010
In preparation for Illumination (December 11th), those with enthusiasm and intriguing ideas are gathering on September 14th to design the event. The meeting is open to anyone with a sense of fun and a willingness to play a role at any level.
Illumination will be our congregation’s way of sharing our joy at God sending us His Son. Beyond that, nothing about this Illumination is set in stone. If there’s something you’d like to try, please come to the meeting at 7:00 in Room 225. The goal of the meeting is to create a permission-giving group that will create an exciting event worth attending.
For more information, contact Steve at moc.liamgnull@ledihsevets or Linda at 412-655-2000 x124.

A new Illumination is coming!
