The Rev. Dr. David Antonson
Dear Friends in Christ,
With great joy, we introduce Rev. Dr. David Antonson as our Interim Senior Pastor starting November 1, 2010. Dr. Antonson will be formally introduced to the congregation during the worship services November 7th and then will preach his first sermon at PHCPC the following Sunday, November 14th.
Dr. Antonson has served Presbyterian congregations in Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and the Pittsburgh area. For 22 years, he was the Senior Pastor at Northmont United Presbyterian Church in the North Hills. More recently, he has served as the Interim Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Bakerstown, PA and then Bethany Presbyterian church in Bridgeville, PA, where he served for 22 months.
Dr. Antonson has been trained as an interim pastor and is a member of the Association of Presbyterian Interim Ministry Specialists. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and also has degrees from both Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia and McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Antonson was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. He is married to Judy, whom he first met in elementary school. She is a substitute teacher in the North Allegheny School District and they have four married sons and five grandchildren spread across the country in New York, Colorado and California. His hobbies include skiing, sailing, tennis, swimming and reading.
David says, “I am humbled and feel very honored to be asked by the Interim Pastor Search Team and the Session to be the Interim Senior Pastor at Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church. Pleasant Hills Church has a wonderful reputation of leadership and service in the Pittsburgh area and throughout the country. I look forward to working with the Session and staff of the church. PHCPC has a wonderful history to build on, and I know God is doing great things through this congregation all over the world and will continue to do so.”
As the Interim Senior Pastor, Dr. Antonson will assist our congregation in respecting our history, discovering a renewed vision for our future and preparing for new leadership. Let’s join together in welcoming Dr. Antonson to our congregation and discovering the wonderful plans God has for us.
In His Service,
The Session – Steve Ament, Jean Crane, Deac Dressing, John Healy, Ralph Johnston, Tami Licht, Blanche McManus, Gary Molinaro, Eileen Nola, Jean Simpson, Linda Stout, Cindy Virgin, Peg Whitehouse and Barb Yogan

From 11:00 AM until they are done, Unselfish Beggars will be collecting gently used clothing and non-perishable unexpired food items from around Pleasant Hills, bringing these items to Fellowship Hall, sorting the items and packing them. A lot of help is needed—if you can help, please stop by and lend a hand to this ministry of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church!

We will be taking over 100 middle school and senior high students on fall retreats this year. Each year we hear testimonies on how this retreat has proven to be life-changing and has led to true transformation for Christ in many students lives.
The cost of the trip is $130, so many families need partial or full scholarships to get their child there. If you are able to help partial or fully scholarship a student, please let us know by contacting Debbie at 412-655-2000 x131 or Tim at x130. You would be making an eternal difference.
Note: Both the middle school & senior high retreats will be at Laurelville this year.
Laurelville Retreat Dates:
- Middles School: Nov. 12-14
- High School: Dec. 3-5
