Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church will be an Operation Christmas Child (OCC) relay collection center for the South Hills communities of Pittsburgh.
Operation Christmas Child, as you may remember, distributes gift-filled shoe boxes around the world to children in the name of Jesus.
A relay center accepts those shoe boxes collected from other churches and community organizations, packs them into shipping boxes and then takes these shipping boxes to the regional collection site in McMurray. From there the boxes are delivered to the national distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the boxes are sent to their final destination: the open hands of a needy child somewhere in the world. While being only one piece in spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth, PHCPC’s participation as a relay center for OCC is an important step.
The PHCPC Mission Team is spearheading both the creation of boxes and the relay center as part of their outreach.
