FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
1. I have a problem with the web site. Whom do I contact?
Rob Carr keeps up the web site. If you’re having a problem viewing a page, using the web site or are concerned about some content, you can call him at the church office (412) 655-2000 or use the contact form at the bottom of this page. If you have something nice to say about the web site, Rob would be thrilled to hear from you! Rob is the Director of Communications at Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church.
2. What does the church do with e-mail addresses it receives?
Your e-mail address will never be sold or given to another organization. If one person at the church has your e-mail address, that’s not a guarantee that anyone else at the church will have it. If you sign up for a class, or e-mail “drop-in,” your e-mail may be used by the church to let you know of upcoming classes or “drop-ins” or similar things. If at any time you wish the church to stop sending you e-mail, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page to have your name removed from our files, which will be done as fast as possible.
3. Why aren’t the full names of children used on the web site?
We wish to protect the youth of our church. Except for extraordinary situations (and then only with a parent’s permission), we will use (at most) the first names of those under 18. This makes it more difficult for those with ill intent to identify someone from our web site.
4. Why aren’t e-mail addresses or home phones listed on the web site?
By using the contact forms (like the one at the bottom of this page) on this web site, we avoid exposing e-mail addresses to the “robot” programs of spammers who would send us lots of useless e-mail for products we don’t trust and don’t want–or worse. For the same reason, we don’t list home phone numbers. If you need a number, you can look it up in the church directory or call the church office at (412) 655-2000 during regular hours.
5. The web site looks distorted in my browser. What should I do?
Use the contact form below or call the church office at (412) 655-2000 and ask for Rob. He’ll try to help you with your problems. Be prepared to tell Rob what browser you use, which version it is and what operating system you use.
This web site has been tested in many browser combinations, and it works fairly well in most of them. There are a few browsers where upgrading to a new version of the browser might be needed to make the web site appear better.
6. My browser won’t let me use the contact form. What should I do?
The contact form below is not going to help you, is it? Call Rob at the church office at (412) 655-2000 and he’ll try to help you.
