Continuing Classes
Several classes continue and are welcoming new members: Bethel Bible Classes (Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM and Thursdays at 6:15 PM) and “The Christian and the Holy Spirit” (Sunday morning at 9:30).

The sermons throughout Lent will be based on the book Final Words From the Cross by Adam Hamilton (Abingdon Press, Nashville, 2011). This author also wrote 24 Hours That Changed The World (2009). Final Words gives an in-depth consideration of the six hours during which Jesus suffers on the cross. A limited number of books are available in the church office for approximately $10.00 each. It is also available for both Kindle and Nook.
On Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 4:00 PM, join in the Black History Month Celebration “A Bold Believer” at Grace Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Robert Hill, Vice Chancellor of Public Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh will be the guest speaker honoring the Rev. Dr. Henry Highland Garnet, the first pastor of Grace Memorial Presbyterian Church.

The next New Connection class begins Sunday, February 26, and runs for four Sundays at 11:00 AM in the Parlor. This quarter, the Youth Ministry will have as our speaker PHCPC’s own David Delmonico, Ph.D., NCC, ACS. David’s a professor in the Department of Counseling, Psychology and Special Education at Duquesne University. He’s also a director of Internet Behavior Consulting Company.
David has a wealth of knowledge and experience in areas of addiction and depression. Anyone who is a parent or works with students knows how prevalent these problems are in our culture and in our own community. This event will be helpful for (and is open to) youth leaders, children’s leaders, parents and grandparents. Please circle the date and make it a priority to come and have a night of learning, spiritual refreshment, worship, fun and relationship building. American Heritage Series
This series will run Sundays from February 12 through April 1 at 11:00 AM in Room 225. Do you think that we are a Christian nation? What did our Founding Fathers believe? Come and discover our moral, religious and constitutional heritage. For more information, contact Vel Holohan at her home or call the church office.
Two of the Women’s Circles meet this Wednesday, February 1: Sarah’s Circle meets at 9:30 AM in the Parlor. Esther’s Circle meets at Vivian McDowell’s home (see the church directory or call the church office at 412-655-2000). Deborah’s Circle doesn’t meet this week—it will meet in two weeks, February 21 at 7:00 PM in the Parlor. All women are encouraged to come to one of the circles.
The program for Christian women who are in the workplace, called Marketplace Women, will meet February 11, March 10, April 14 and May 12 at the Panera Bread in the Southland Shopping Center from 8:15 AM until 10:00 AM. These Saturday morning get-togethers are times for women to study the Bible, relax, and share.
PHCPC is offering two TWOgether Pittsburgh classes: Marriage Preparation & Marriage Enrichment. The classes will be held Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24.
