There can be problems with even the simplest estate, will or trust agreement. At the February meeting of the Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills, we will have a presentation on the difficulties which can occur (with some examples from the news) and how to avoid them.

January RMLG: Protecting Children

The program for the January meeting of the Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills is taken from recent headlines, which reflect recent events at Penn State.  Julie Evans, from Pittsburgh Action Against Rape, will present a program about the issue of child sexual abuse generally, and will provide suggestions for grandparents and other adults to be proactive to help protect children.

December Retired Men’s Luncheon Group

Start your Christmas celebrations by joining the December meeting of the Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills. Jazz band ensembles from Thomas Jefferson High School will present a program of music to get our Christmas season off to a rousing start!

November 2011 Retired Men’s Luncheon Group

One of the many scams by which senior citizens are victimized is insurance fraud. At the November meeting of the Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills, Senior Deputy Attorney General Dennis Kistler, Supervisor Special Agent David Waugaman and Special Agent James Wasby of the Insurance Fraud Unit of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office will inform us of what to watch for and how to avoid this problem.

The buildings and grounds of Jefferson Memorial Cemetery contain many reminders of our history. At the September Meeting of the Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills, Vanessa Botti of the Jefferson Memorial staff will lead us on a virtual tour of the many items of historical interest which can be seen there.

August Retired Men’s Luncheon Group

We may remember “Up Front” cartoons from “Stars and Stripes” and homefront newspapers and Willie and Joe from movies after WWII.  At the August meeeting of the Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills, Dr. Todd DePastino from Waynesburg University, and author of Bill Mauldin:  A Life Up Front, will present an illustrated talk on the great WWII cartoonist, Bill Mauldin.

Retired Men’s Luncheon Group June Program

Most of us have been around here long enough to have ridden on the old yellow (orange?) trolleys.  Some of us may even have ridden the big red interurban cars.  For a trip to yesteryear, join the Retired Men’s Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills at the June meeting where George Gulas from the Pittsburgh Trolley Museum will share the trolley history of the Pittsburgh area.
