Sarah and Esther’s Circle

Two of the Women’s Circles meet this Wednesday, February 1: Sarah’s Circle meets at 9:30 AM in the Parlor. Esther’s Circle meets at Vivian McDowell’s home (see the church directory or call the church office at 412-655-2000). Deborah’s Circle doesn’t meet this week—it will meet in two weeks, February 21 at 7:00 PM in the Parlor. All women are encouraged to come to one of the circles.

Marketplace Women

The program for Christian women who are in the workplace, called Marketplace Women, will meet February 11, March 10, April 14 and May 12 at the Panera Bread in the Southland Shopping Center from 8:15 AM until 10:00 AM. These Saturday morning get-togethers are times for women to study the Bible, relax, and share.

Sarah’s Circle Christmas Dinner

Sarah’s Circle will celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons with a lunch at the home of Betty Breneman’s home on Wednesday, December 7 at 11:30 AM. For information, please call Betty or call the church office at 412-655-2000.

From One Light Comes Many Blessings

Please plan on attending the Women’s Ministries Advent Event on November 29 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. It will begin with worship in the Sanctuary and end in the Great Room with refreshments and a wonderful outreach activity.

Please take an ornament from one of the “One Light, Many Blessings” trees and donate something for the outreach baskets. Bring your mothers, daughters, grandmothers and other female friends and light up the 2011 Advent season!

Saturday, December 4^th – 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Ticket sales: November 7^th after church services

Reservation Deadline:  November 28^th

Cost: $10 for girls 10 and over, $5 under 10  (including nursery— reservations are required)

Children’s Workshop: Led by Sharon Stewart, Jayme Bauer and Walt Kivala

Girls age 10 (5^th grade) and over will meet in the Sanctuary to enjoy a time of music and worship

Younger ladies (ages 4-9) will go off to enjoy a Children’s Workshop adventure through Nazareth to Bethlehem with Mary and Joseph.

The littlest tikes (girls and boys under 4) will have their own fun time in the nursery!

Everyone over 4 will meet up in the Great Room for a wonderful luncheon.  Following the meal will be a focus on the mission project for the event, a crafty time, and festive music to end the program.

4 and under: A light snack will be provided for the nursery–Moms should pack a lunch for their children.

To celebrate the abundance and outrageous lavishness of God’s love, look for your fanciest Christmas clothes and most colorful costume jewelry!

MOPS Fundraiser

Mothers Of PreSchoolers (MOPS) is now selling “Enjoy” books for $27. The Enjoy book has discounts for restaurants, car washes, dry cleaners, sporting events and more. Interested? See Donna Morgan in the church office!

MOPS Starts September 17th, 2010!

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) will hold their first meeting of the year this Friday, September 17^th, in Fellowship Hall.  The meeting will run from 9:30-11:30 AM, with childcare available beginning at 9:00 AM.  Please feel free to join us in developing friendships with other mothers of children from infant to kindergarten age.

On Sept. 1, 2010, the Women’s Circles began their year in the Parlor. Approximately 40 women attended the brunch and discussion afterward. The book the women will be studying in the circle, “Angels,” was introduced and Vel Holohan talked about her recent trip to Washington, DC.

The Circles regularly meet at the following times:

• Sarah’s Circle, the first Wednesday of each month, 9:30 am in the Parlor;
• Esther’s Circle, the first Wednesday of each month, 7 pm in individual homes;
• Deborah’s Circle, the third Tuesday of the month, 7 pm in the Parlor (will meet starting September 21.)
