An Evening of Fun, Training & Worship

This quarter, the Youth Ministry will have as our speaker PHCPC’s own David Delmonico, Ph.D., NCC, ACS. David’s a professor in the Department of Counseling, Psychology and Special Education at Duquesne University. He’s also a director of Internet Behavior Consulting Company.

David has a wealth of knowledge and experience in areas of addiction and depression. Anyone who is a parent or works with students knows how prevalent these problems are in our culture and in our own community. This event will be helpful for (and is open to) youth leaders, children’s leaders, parents and grandparents. Please circle the date and make it a priority to come and have a night of learning, spiritual refreshment, worship, fun and relationship building. New Stephen Ministry Training Class to Begin

You have seen the ministry of the Stephen Ministers here at PHCPC. Have you thought that perhaps you would like to participate in this ministry? Your opportunity to do so has arrived! The next Stephen Ministry training class will begin this spring. If you would like to participate in this training and in this ministry, talk to one of our Stephen Leaders or Pastor Dave soon. Stephen Ministry is an opportunity to share the love that God has given you.

Do you know someone who could use some support and encouraging words? Perhaps even you could use some encouragement! Our congregation is blessed to have Stephen Ministers who offer one-to-one Christian caring support as we face life’s challenges. You don’t ever have to walk the road alone. Contact one of our Pastors or Stephen leaders if you or someone you know could use the support of this ministry.

New Prayer Team Forming

Every Friday at 10:30 AM, the Prayer Team meets in the church Library to bring prayers before God: prayers for the congregation, our staff, our community, our world and specifically for requests on the prayer chain. Not everyone can meet during the day. If you are interested in helping to start an evening Prayer Team, please call the church and leave a message for Mary Ann Wuenstel or call her at home.

Hosting Families January 29-February 5

PHCPC will be hosting families for the Interfaith Hospitality Network from January 29-February 5 and will need volunteers to drive the van, cook meals and stay overnight with the families. Call Tim at 412-655-2000 x130 or send Tim an email if you can help out!

Grief Recovery Group

The Grief Recovery Group meets Sunday, December 18 at 9:30 AM in the Pastor’s Conference Room. If you have experienced the death of a loved one, please come. Jesus promised: “Blessed are those who mourn; they will be comforted.” Stephen Ministers will guide our discussions with support and caring steps. Come for hope and healing.

Do the Holidays Have You Feeling Down?

If you or someone you know could benefit from the support and care of a Stephen Minister throughout the holidays, please contact a pastor or Stephen Leader. We stand ready to walk beside you, no matter what your circumstance. God doesn’t expect us to bear our burdens alone!

Memory Loss Support Group

The Memory Loss Support Group will meet tomorrow, December 5, at 7:00 PM at Panera’s in Southland Shopping Center. If you have a family member going through memory loss, you are invited to attend.

Hosting Families December 4-11

PHCPC will be hosting families for the Interfaith Hospitality Network from December 4-11. Volunteers are needed to drive the van to and from the Crafton house, cook meals, or stay overnight with the families. If you can lend a hand and a caring heart, please sign up on the dry-erase board or call Tim at 412-655-2000 x130.

In Need of Career Assistance?

If you are unemployed, underemployed or thinking of a career change, this new faith-based group might be able to help! Working with the book Finding a Job God’s Way, this group will be a place where we can encourage each other, discuss important job search strategies and network. The group meets every other week. The next meeting will take place on Monday, November 21 at 7:00 PM in the Youth Room (Room 230). If you are unemployed or considering making a career change, we hope you will come.
