Stephen Ministry

“Lord, let my words be yours, and speak the loving care of Christ through me.”

Do you know someone who could use some support and encouraging words? Perhaps even you could use some encouragement! Our congregation is blessed to have Stephen Ministers who offer one-to-one Christian caring support as we face life’s challenges. You don’t ever have to walk the road alone. Contact one of our Pastors or Stephen leaders if you or someone you know could use the support of this ministry.

(A new Stephen Ministry training class is beginning this spring.  Prayerfully consider if God is calling you to be a part of this ministry!)

Grief Recovery Group

The Grief Recovery Group meets Sunday, December 18 at 9:30 AM in the Pastor’s Conference Room. If you have experienced the death of a loved one, please come. Jesus promised: “Blessed are those who mourn; they will be comforted.” Stephen Ministers will guide our discussions with support and caring steps. Come for hope and healing.

Do the Holidays Have You Feeling Down?

If you or someone you know could benefit from the support and care of a Stephen Minister throughout the holidays, please contact a pastor or Stephen Leader. We stand ready to walk beside you, no matter what your circumstance. God doesn’t expect us to bear our burdens alone!

A new Stephen Ministry class will begin in the spring of 2012. Is God calling you?

Struggling?

Are there issues you’ve struggled with so long that they’ve drained the life out of you? Are you becoming discouraged and confused?  God cares about the things that worry you! Jesus loves you and can handle things that overwhelm us. Let a Stephen Minister sit, listen and pray with you. For more information on this confidential one-on-one ministry, talk to one of our Stephen Leaders: Mary Hiller, Jerry Reeves or Debbie Thomas.

Is Someone You Know in Need?

Do you know someone going through a difficult time? Your Stephen Ministry has provided the Care Notes that may be found in the racks in the Great Room Lobby and also outside Fellowship Hall. Sharing an appropriate note with a hurting friend is a way to show your love and concern. With his/her permission, you can also speak with Pastor Darlene about connecting with the focused care and encouragement of a trained Stephen Minister.

Life’s Problems…

…and concerns don’t necessarily go away just because vacation time is here! If you are faced with a concern or situation that is difficult to deal with alone, don’t hesitate to ask for a Stephen Minister’s help. What a comfort it can be to have a concerned Christian willing to stay beside you through trouble! Contact Pastor Darlene at (412) 655-2000 x123 for more information.
