Women’s Lenten Breakfast
March 23 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
The annual Women’s Lenten Breakfast gives women from our church and surrounding communities an opportunity to share a meal, strengthen relationships, and receive encouragement in the faith from a guest speaker.
Event Theme: Rekindling Hope and Joy
In challenging times, we sometimes long for warmth and inspiration to help us come in from what seems to be a cold, hard world. Join us for this presentation about the ways that spiritual practice, in the form of creative writing, can rekindle your hope and stoke the fires of joy in your life.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Shan Overton
Shan is the Director of the Center for Writing & Learning Support and Adjunct Professor at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. She is a published writer of poetry and prose, and is passionate about the making and enjoying of visual, literary, musical, and other forms of art as a spiritual practice that deeply engages the theological imagination. Shan is a faithful wife and loving dog-owner.
What Can I Expect?
We will gather in Fellowship Hall for a delicious breakfast and delightful conversation. As we conclude our meal together, Dr. Shan Overton will encourage us in the faith as she shares inspiring poetry and prose.
